Star Class News
Week of November 10th
Thank you for everyone who came to the Conferences last night, it is always fun to get to talk to the parents. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to let me know. We can correspond by email or set up a good time to meet where there aren't a lot of distractions. As I mentioned in many of the meetings I am excited for this year, we have a great group of kids!
No Class Tuesday!
Just a reminder there will be no school on Veterans Day which is this Tuesday, November 11th.
Family Fun Night
On Nov. 21st (please note the date change), we will be having our first family fun night of the school year. This month it is a “Make and take holiday craft night”. This is a free event and includes the whole family. We will have some cookie decorating, a holiday obstacle course and fun crafts for the whole family. Mark your calendars so you wont miss it!
Food Drive
Little Acorn is partnering with the church in this years food drive. This week we will be decorating a box that will be set just outside of our classroom. The boxes will be out through December so your child can bring in a few cans of food or other non perishable items to donate to the food boxes the church hands out this holiday season.
LAPSK Board
This Thursday the LAPSK board is having a meet and greet in the Conrad Room (upstairs) from 9:00-11:00. You will have a chance to meet the members of the board and share any thoughts, ideas, or even a thank you for all they do.
Winter Concert
Mark your calenders for our annual Winter Concert. The Star Class will be preforming on Monday, December 8th. We are looking for a pianist for both concerts – Monday, December 8th and Tuesday, December 9th. If you or someone you know are willing and able to volunteer, please let Teacher Katie know.
This week in the Star Class
This week we are going to be getting ready for Thanksgiving. We will be creating some fun turkeys that you can decorate your homes with. We will also be discussing some of the some of the foods you might see at Thanksgiving, and start thinking about what things we might be Thankful for (which we will really discuss next week)
Word Wall
This week we will be contining with the letter Gg for Gorilla or grape (please don't bring in a real grapes, it can get really messy). Your child can bring in an item that starts with the letter of the week and we will write the word out and put on our word wall. They can put their item in our pelican that is by the word wall.
