 Star Class News
Week of December 15th

Our Winter Concert was wonderful, Thank you for everyone that came and supported the kids while they sang (and stood) on stage. The kids have been working hard learning their songs and it was great to see so many families able to come out and watch.  We also want to thank everyone who participated in the scholastic book fair, we hope that you are all able to enjoy your books over the holiday break.

Check out our door.  Our Friday class decorated it for the holidays, all the kids were able to practice cutting and taping as we put a snowman on our door.

Holiday Surprises
This week,  the children will be bringing home their Christmas  “surprises’ for their families.  They may give them to whomever they wish and whenever they wish. These gifts were made with love, we hope you enjoy them.

Gingerbread Forests/Christmas Party
We will be creating Gingerbread forests on the Thursday and Friday.  Thank you to everyone who has donated money to help pay for the goodies we will need.  Lisa Hudson has offered go out and get goodies we need for decorating to ensure that they are free of nuts, egg, and dairy.

Our Friday group will meet up with their Sunshine friends to work on our Gingerbread houses.

 Star Class News
Week of December 8th

Thank you to all of the families that came to the Santa Breakfast.  It was great to see so many of our families having fun.   We hope you had as much fun as we did, as always we would love your feedback so that we can only make these events better in the future.

Last week we finished our Christmas presents, we will be wrapping them soon and sending them home soon. Please let us know if you plan on missing the last few days of school so we can get them to you before Christmas break starts!

Winter Concert
Our Winter Concert is this Monday Night, December 8th. The concert starts at 6:00, but kids need to be dropped off in class at 5:45.  Please make sure they have a chance to go to the bathroom before coming to class.   You can leave them with us and find a spot to sit upstairs in the sanctuary. We will bring the kids up for the concert and then release them to you after the performance.

Friday
We will be meeting in the Star Class on Fridays.  Please remember if your child comes on Friday, we will be picking up and dropping off in the Star Class.

Gingerbread Forests/Christmas Party
For our Christmas parities, we are thinking of creating Gingerbread forests on the Thursday and Friday before Christmas Break.  Lisa Hudson has offered go out and get goodies we need for decorating to ensure that they are free of nuts, egg, and dairy.  We are hoping to get donations to help her purchase these items.  If you would like to donate $3-$5 this week she has offered to pick up the items, we will have a small list of items we know are safe that you can sign up for if you prefer to bring in something of your own.

Our Friday group will have a separate list, we will be joining the Sunshine class to create Gingerbread forests, so we will split the sign up sheet between the two classes.  Signs up will be out this week.

Book Fair
We will be having a Book Fair the week of December 8th – 12th.  You can check out the book fair during school hours or at the Winter Concerts.

Food Drive
Little Acorn is partnering with the church in this years food drive.  Our Food Drive box will be out through December so your child can bring in a few cans of food or other non perishable items to donate to the food boxes the church hands out this holiday season.

This week in the Star Class
This week we are going to be creating patterns with candy canes, creating candy cane playdoh, and using our imaginations as we create our our Reindeer stories.  We will also continue decorating our room for Christmas with lights, ornaments and trees.

Word Wall
This week we will be continuing with the letter Jj for Jaguar or Jingle.  Your child can bring in an item that starts with the letter of the week and we will write the word out and put on our word wall.  They can put their item in our pelican that is by the word wall.
