Week of January 19th
Last week our Friday class had fun making snow in class. This is a project that is best for small groups so we probably won't be making it again. If you are interested in making snow at home just use a box of baking soda and a can of whip cream and mix until you can pick it up. The more you work it in your hands, (I rolled it from hand to hand) the more it feels like snow.
Jamberry Fundraiser for Little Acorn Preschool and Kindergarten!!!
I am so excited to be able to run a fundraiser for Little Acorn through Jamberry!! I will be donating 25% of the sales to Little Acorn PLUS the sales will help earn free product that will be donated to the Auction in March to raise even more money for our fabulous school. By making a purchase you are actually giving twice! Please check your child’s cubby on Tuesday January 20 for a flyer! The sale will run from today until January 30th! I will set up a table in the lobby of Little Acorn on Tuesday January 27th at 11:45 so come early to pick up your kiddos and stop by for a demo, free sample or to buy some wraps from the inventory I will have on hand!

Registration for 2015-2016
In -house Registration begins February 4th. We will have Open houses to explore the classrooms January 26th, 27th, and 29th. Make sure to check out all 3 classes. The age ranges for the classes you will be looking at are as follows: Busy Bee and Butterfly classes are 4 by September, the Dragonfly class is 4 by December. We will also have afternoon classes available for 4 year olds next year. This is a great way to get the children ready for full day the following year. We are asking that you provide a second choice for a morning class in class we have low enrollment.
Spread the WordThe best way to get our preschools name out there is for our families to spread the word. If you hear of anyone looking for a preschool, please let them know what you think of our school and send them our way if you have had a good experience. We have a 2 ½ year old class, 3 three year old options, (Star, Sunshine and Dragonfly), 3 four year old options (Dragonfly, Busy Bee, and Butterfly), and a Kindergarten class.
This week in the Star Class
This week we will be finishing our winter themes with ice experiments, ice paintings, and polar animals.
Word Wall
This week we will be continuing with the letter Mm for Monkey or Money. Your child can bring in an item that starts with the letter of the week and we will write the word out and put on our word wall. They can put their item in our pelican that is by the word wall.

Fund-raising
Fred Meyer rewards - Add Little Acorn to your Fred Meyer rewards card by going online to www.fredmeyer.com/communityrewards.
Shoparoo app - You can also download the shoparoo app, and each time you take a picture of your reciept, Little Acorn can get “roo points” (cash donations). You can scan receipts from resturants, department stores, hardware stores, craft stores, electronics, sports stores, office suppy, bookstores and cafe's. Shoparoo will not ask for personal information and all information is anonymous. If you try either of these we would love to hear feedback on what you think.
Volunteer Opportunities
Approved snack donations are now a way to fulfill part of your 2-hour volunteer requirement. Check out the new volunteer opportunities posted outside the classroom.
