Newsletter - January 12

 Star Class News
Week of January 12th

It was great to see so many of the kids back last week.  We really missed them over break and it was great to get back into our routine.  Often times after a long break, we need a few weeks to return to our schedule.

Registration for 2015-2016
In -house Registration begins February 4th.  Now is the time to start thinking about what class to put your kids in.  We will have Open houses to explore the classrooms January 26th, 27th, and 29th.    Make sure to check out all 3 classes. The age ranges for the classes you will be looking at are as follows:  Busy Bee and Butterfly classes are 4 by September, the Dragonfly class is 4 by December.  We can give suggestions on where we think your child will fit best, but it really is best to check out all three classes, meet the teachers, and get a feel for the best placement.

We will also have afternoon classes available for 4 year olds next year.  This is a great way to get the children ready for full day the following year.  We are asking that you provide a second choice for a morning class in class we have low enrollment.

Spread the Word
The best way to get our preschools name out there is for our families to spread the word.  If you hear of anyone looking for a preschool, please let them know what you think of our school and send them our way if you have had a good experience.  We have a 2 ½ year old class, 3 three year old options, (Star, Sunshine and Dragonfly), 3 four year old options (Dragonfly, Busy Bee, and Butterfly), and a Kindergarten class.

Stuffed Animal Food Drive
The church is doing a stuffed animal food drive.  If you would like to participate they are looking for new or gently used stuffed animals.  You can put them in the bin outside the directors office.

This week in the Star Class
This week we will be continuing our winter themes by talking about and creating snowmen.  We will be creating name snowmen, melted snowmen, and practicing drawing  our own snowmen.  We will be talking about what makes snowmen melt, and attempting to make our own snow.

Word Wall
This week we will be continuing with the letter Ll for Lion or Lunch.  Your child can bring in an item that starts with the letter of the week and we will write the word out and put on our word wall.  They can put their item in our pelican that is by the word wall.

This weeks songs in the Star Class

I'm a Little Snowman

I'm a little snowman short and fat
Here are my buttons, here is my hat
When the sun comes out, I cannot play
I just slowly melt away.

Once there was a snowman

Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman
Once there was a snowman tall, tall, tall.
In the sun it melted, melted, melted,
In the sun it melted small, small, small.
